A Beautiful Rainy Day Wedding
Rice Park, Downtown Saint Paul, MN
It was a cool, rainy day. Of course, we were all hoping the rain was going to subside, but it didn't. As the girls were getting ready, Toufu had to make an unexpected trip out to the store to get a bunch of umbrellas for the rainy day ahead.
It was time to head out, so the ladies and myself all piled on to the party bus to go to Rice Park to meet up with the gentlemen who were already there. Luckily for us, one of the gentlemen found a beautiful spot behind the library for the bride and groom's first look.
When the first look was over, Nalee and Toufu walked toward Rice Park...
"As we were heading towards Downtown St. Paul, I told her I wanted to take her to somewhere beautiful. The snow was on the ground and the lights made the park stand out along with the tall nut cracker standing in the middle of the park...When we got there, we walked to the middle of the park, just talking... I also told her how lovely and beautiful she was. I told her that she meant everything in my life and that I could see nobody else in it except the one girl that I loved the most, her. Then I asked her the question and she said yes... we kissed and quickly ran to the car because it was getting cold." - Toufu
"He was driving me home that night, when he randomly stops at Rice Park in Downtown St. Paul. I remember thinking to myself it is almost 1 in the morning, I’m tired and I’m ready to go to bed. Then he leaned over and kindly asked me if we can go for a walk. I thought he was crazy. It was the end of November and super cold out. Note I was in a thin cardigan and he only had a light jacket on. I still agreed to go out for a walk and as we got out of the car, he came rushing by my side and placed his jacket on me... As we were walking down to the middle of the park, holding hands and admiring all the beautiful Christmas lights around us, he suddenly stopped, hugged me, and whispered in my ear telling me how beautiful I was. He then was telling me how much I meant to him, and how he couldn’t see himself with anyone else. To me it felt like he was slowly getting down on his knee when he asked me to marry him. Words cannot describe how I felt in that moment. I said yes, and I remember him getting up and then we rushed back to the car because it was so cold." - Nalee
