Shuazong + Jimmy, Engaged!
Smiles and Modesty
Lyndale Park, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The first time I met Shuazong and Jimmy was at a Starbuck's... first impression, staying modest and always smiling. I always enjoy meeting potential clients for the first time; it can be awkward at first but usually doesn't last long, essentially getting comfortable enough to make (hopefully) lasting impressions. I must have done something right because here we are...

It was a tad bit chilly the morning we decided to go and shoot Shuazong and Jimmy's engagement photos... the sky was darkened with subtle hints of rain wanting to appear. It was Jimmy's first time at Lyndale Park, so we roamed throughout until we came across some large pine trees I think (not a tree expert). I originally just wanted to utilize the area, Jimmy wanted to climb them! Don't worry, they didn't climb that high. I just love it when couples are spur of the moment! It makes for more of a story than just photos.

"The plan was to pop the question during ice skating. Of course, we decided to go on the coldest weekend of December. All three rinks we went to were closed. Plan was ruined. I was grasping the ring box in my coat pocket all night, eager to pull it out at an opportune time. There were multiple instances where I could have done it. One was at downtown near a fountain. A big pine tree filled with bright Christmas lights seemed perfect. I got cold feet literally and figuratively." - Jimmy

For me, I've noticed, the-spur-of-the-moment leads to a love story better than the original that is planned. with those... I see rich emotion that may always be remembered especially if given the right opportunity to capture through photography. I strive for those moments, it guides our faith in the unseen and hope for something more.

"This was a turning point for my life because I am spending the rest of my life with the woman I love. I also now have my utmost faith in God because of how everyone in her family has treated me this past year. Thinking back on it, we both agreed that I could have done things a little better, but I admit it was a spur of the moment, especially when things didn't go as planned. Either way we are both happy with the way things turned out. The plans are now in motion for our wedding, which has got us both very excited for the future." - Jimmy

Jimmy, I humbly applaud your new faith in God...for the woman you love. 1Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. 2For by it our ancestors won God’s approval. - Hebrews 11:1 With the hope and faith you have, anything can be obtained... it might not be what you expected but you will surely receive... 24Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. - Mark 11:23-24 I look forward to your wedding day, to capture the moments of love between you and Shuazong, your families - all while sharing faith in God.
