Rachel + John
A Subtly Romantic Wedding
Saint Paul + Lakeville, Minnesota
I think it was near 7:30 AM as I arrived at the University of Northwestern, Nazareth Chapel, to start taking detail shots of the actual chapel itself. I was a little surprised by how cold it was, but knowing Minnesota weather, I came prepared. The outside was beautiful, with plenty of character and ornate details.
Later that day, I ventured up to Island Chapel on the hill. The wind was blowing... I wanted to capture the dress blowing in the wind with the historic church tucked away. After dozens of shots and angles, this is definitely my favorite... I hope you like it Rachel!
Originally, Rachel and John wanted their ceremony and reception both held at the Brackett's Crossing Country Club in Lakeville, Minnesota. However, considering the ceremony would have been outdoors there, it was a no go since it was too cold. Honestly, I am glad the ceremony was at Nazareth Chapel. it helped set the tone for a subtly romantic wedding day.
One of the most memorable moments for me, is the first look (if its done). It is the shear nervousness on the groom's face - and the anticipation that you see running through his entire self waiting for his bride. It is also one of those moments the bride gets to steer - while the groom might have gotten us here...
"As we continued walking, we came across a little park. It was so romantic with benches looking out toward the river front. All of a sudden, I start hearing one of our favorite songs, "Love you Forever" by Ryan Huston. Then I felt a pull - as I turned back, I saw John getting teary." - Rachel
"I recall being super nervous, but while bending down, I lost that feeling. I was lost inside the words of emotional expressions and the music that was played in the background... That night was unforgettable. " - John
"It was the most amazing night ever!" - Rachel
